Salary: Earn $300 per week. Leaders (members) are eligible for AmeriCorps Education Awards upon season completion.
Location: Monticello, Utah
Our Canyon Country Youth Corps provides employment opportunities for youth and young adults to work on service projects on public lands in the Four Corners area, in partnership with the land management agencies.
Crew Members live and work outdoors as part of a 8 person crew, completing various conservation projects in throughout Utah. Crews are trained to use chainsaws and a variety of hand tools to complete projects. Tasks may include: invasive species removal, fire mitigation work, trail construction,and other conservation related projects in backcountry and frontcountry settings.
CCYC hires native and local youth from the four corners region, as well as national hires. Crews consist of six members and two leaders.Crew’s work a schedule 9-10 days on and 5- 6 days off.
-No conservation experience needed
-Love of the outdoors necessary
-Must be willing to work hard and be part of a team
-General outdoor experience preferred
-Must have ability to complete required AmeriCorps hours within term of service dates, be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, be age 18 by start date
-Be able to pass a Federal Criminal History Check
