Salary: $9.37 per hour

Duties: Park Ranger Aides perform a variety of duties at Goblin Valley State Park. They provide information to the public and answer park specific questions, regulations concerning camping and day-use activities, and surrounding recreational opportunities on public lands. Ranger Aides greet park visitors and help them discover park resources and how to enjoy them appropriately. They assist with park operation by daily fee collection, reporting and accounting at the entrance station and visitor center. Ranger Aides work in the gift shop by selling retail items, stocking, and doing inventory. Ranger Aides perform general maintenance and cleaning of park facilities, basic plumbing and construction jobs as necessary and maintain park hiking and biking trails. Park Ranger Aides develop and present a variety of interpretive programs including evening programs, guided hikes, and Jr. Ranger programs. They assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

Other: Work is performed in a remote setting with limited resources and conveniences. Ranger aides must live on site in a two-bedroom, dormitory-style setting and will be required to work weekends and holidays. Housing is free.
