From the prominence of Dead Horse Point, 2,000 feet above a gooseneck in the Colorado River, an ever-changing landscape unfurls. Immense vertical cliffs meet with canyons carved by ice, water and wind creating a visual masterpiece. Plants and animals surviving on the edge of existence face many challenges of extreme conditions within this high desert environment. Stories of ancient hunters, resting along the cliff tops while knapping chert in preparation for the next hunt, and cowboys of the late 1800’s, chasing wild mustangs onto Dead Horse Point, using the narrow neck to block off the natural corral.
Join the Dead Horse Point State Park team as a Park Ranger Aide. Park Ranger Aides are front line staff within this dynamic Park. They collect park entrance/camping fees, answer visitor questions, staff visitor center, retail, and entrance booth, maintain park facilities, assist with special projects, mark trails, and may present interpretive programs. This position requires applicant to stand for hours, lift up to 25 lbs, hike for miles, have stellar customer service, great communications skills, and the desire to explore the beautiful red rock country within and around the Park. This position is for work March through October of 2018. Applicants must be available for the entire season.
