Greet visitors and collect park entrance fees at the entrance station
Greet customers, sell retail items, and collect fees at the visitor center
Provide information to visitors about park rules and regulations
Answering visitor questions about park and recreational opportunities in the area
Assist gift shop customers with questions about products
Stock the gift shop with products under the direction of the gift shop manager
Answer visitor questions about park resources
Complete shift reports, accounting, and opening and closing procedures
Collect litter and pack garbage into dumpsters
Trail maintenance and roving
Assist with search and rescue operations and/or medical incident
Park resource programming on occasion (time and resource limited)
Other projects as assigned
Park Ranger Aides have the option of living on-site in a two-bedroom dormitory-style apartment with a shared bathroom, kitchen, and living room.
Employees are required to work weekends and holidays.
Work in extreme outdoor weather conditions and working in remote areas.
Valid driver license required to drive a motor vehicle on a highway in this state.
Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities and recurring lifting.
Ability to perform many maintenance activities - digging, raking, lifting, etc.
Physical ability to operate vehicles, off highway vehicles, golf carts, and basic tools.
Required state and agency training: Defensive driving, security awareness and PCI security awareness, workplace harassment and abusive conduct prevention trainings, etc. within first weeks of employment.
Cell phone service and internet connectivity are limited in the park.
These are seasonal positions and do not qualify for state benefits such as health insurance, retirement, etc.
